It’s been said, “Beauty is only skin deep.” Sixty years ago, Mary Kay created the business of beauty for women to excel in, and it is still going strong! Pat Hamblin, Linda Stuart, Robbie Waits, and Kitty Waldrop coordinated a tour of Mary Kay Global Headquarters for the Rockin’ Red Ranchers. The building serves as home to more than 1,200 employees and features a full-service restaurant, a fitness center, an on-site health clinic, and the Mary Kay Museum.
The museum and exhibits include a comprehensive history of the corporation and Mary Kay Ash herself and the impact she made on the world of business. On display were products throughout the years, Mary Kay’s first order, her personal wardrobe, and a timeline of the company’s accomplishments. The modern building and her office, filled with beautiful gifts of ceramic and porcelain figurines, is a shining example of the power of women to overcome the inequality of women in the workplace. Her unique, two-sided partners desk reflected her commitment to collaboration in business.
The museum is free and open to the public for visits and tours, helping to preserve the company’s history and promoting the heritage and legacy of Mary Kay Ash and the company she built.
