For more than 20 years, the sound of music has been a defining characteristic of our community. Since its inception, the Robson Ranch Community Choir has evolved into a premier performing ensemble, transforming the Music Club’s vision into a rich sound that has entertained and inspired residents for over two decades.
Professional Leadership
The choir’s consistently high standard of performance is driven by its distinguished leadership. Dr. Arturo Ortega, a seasoned conductor with a doctorate in Musical Arts, serves as the artistic director. Dr. Ortega brings decades of experience in choral conducting and music education, utilizing his expertise to refine vocal technique and draw out nuanced expressions from the vocalists.
Complementing Dr. Ortega’s direction is Paul Lees, the choir’s esteemed accompanist. A virtuoso pianist with an extensive background in professional performance, Lees provides the foundational melodic structure for the group. His ability to navigate complex scores with precision and flair is a hallmark of the choir’s sophisticated sound.
A Triple Crown of Concert Seasons
The Community Choir anchors the Robson Ranch social calendar with three major annual performances:
• The Veterans Day Tribute: This poignant event honors the community’s many veterans through stirring patriotic anthems and reflective arrangements that pay homage to the armed forces.
• The Christmas Concert: A celebration of the holiday spirit, featuring intricate choral arrangements ranging from classic favorites to festive, modern carols.
• The Spring Showcase: A dynamic program often centered around a specific theme, such as “Broadway at the Ranch” or “Silver Screen Classics.”
A Year-Round Presence
Beyond the formal stage, the choir expands its musical footprint by sponsoring a variety of interactive events throughout the year. These community favorites include themed dances, karaoke nights where residents can step into the spotlight, and the ever-popular Music Bingo, which blends a love of classic hits with a friendly, competitive spirit.
