The bocce courts at night are open for business.
HOA Facilities Committee
The beautiful and belated bocce courts are now available for use by Robson residents. Our residents who wish to participate in organized play can join the 1,940 members (and still adding) of the Bocce Club. The club has structured leagues, which encourage good old-fashioned competition and plenty of trash-talking. But most importantly, those who participate in the leagues enjoy the camaraderie of being with their teammates and forming new friendships with their opponents.
However, all residents have access to the bocce courts whenever there are no scheduled club activities. If a resident wants to invite their neighbors to join them for a game, a resident has two choices on accessing the bocce courts. The resident can drop by the bocce courts, and if a court is available and not reserved, play can begin. The other option is to use the HOA website to make a reservation for a bocce court using the reservation system listed under the Sports Club tab. Residents will need to register and establish a password to have access to the reservation system.
Now that the long-anticipated courts are here, we need to protect them from abuse by following the rules laid out in the “Policies Applicable to All Facilities” and the “Sports Courts” section of the Facilities Handbook. The Facilities Handbook is available on the HOA website under the HOA, Governing Documents tab. For example, children under the age of 18 can use this facility, but they must be directly supervised by the Robson resident sponsor. Here are some things that can damage our new amenity: riding bicycles between the courts, using rollerblades on the sidewalks between the courts and on the courts, throwing gravel on the courts, walking or sitting on the side walls of the courts, and wearing shoes with high heels, spikes, or nubs that can damage the surface of the courts. The bottom line is that bocce courts can only be used to play bocce. If someone is abusing the courts, residents should contact Patrol at 940-465-7303.
Our shared goal is to protect this new amenity so that we don’t accelerate the need for expensive repairs.
Enjoy our newest amenity!
