The first general meeting of the Robson Ranch Tech Club in 2026 was on Jan. 12 at the Creative Arts and Technology Center in Room 104 (Bluebonnet), and started at 7 p.m. This meeting was open to any Robson resident.
We were honored to have Robson resident and Tech Club member Stephen Pinn as our guest speaker. Mr. Pinn presented on “Upgrading Your Wi-Fi.” His agenda topics included Words Mean Something, Routers—What Are They?, Pros and Cons of Astound vs. Own Your Own, Types of Distributed Networks (Wi-Fi, really), and Examples of Router Configurations.
We had much lively discussion about Astound data services and modem router options, as well as using a carrier “hotspot” or Starlink satellite services.
