The excitement was on full display as the Robson Ranch Denton Bocce Club concluded its Spring Bocce Playoffs, featuring the community’s top 32 teams competing for the coveted championship title.
Following another highly competitive season with 183 teams across 21 divisions, the playoffs returned to an exciting two-day tournament format. The top-ranked team from each division automatically qualified, while the remaining eleven spots were awarded to the highest-ranked teams based on overall league standings.
Teams earned their playoff positions through season-long performance, with rankings determined by total matches won, total games won, and total points scored. Adjustments were made for divisions affected by weather delays or bye weeks to ensure fair final rankings.
The tournament featured fixed brackets with no re-seeding, making every match a must-win battle. Day One began with two 16-team brackets, with advancing teams moving through the Sweet 16, Elite Eight, and Final Four before reaching the championship match.
All playoff matches were played as a best two-out-of-three series to 11 points, showcasing the skill, teamwork, and competitive spirit that define Robson Ranch bocce.
After two days of outstanding competition, Spin Doctors emerged as the Spring Bocce Champions, earning the club’s championship title. Finishing as the tournament runner-up was Cartwright Butteri, whose impressive playoff run culminated in a well-deserved second-place finish. Both teams demonstrated exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Tournament play was managed using the Scoreholio tournament system, allowing players and spectators to follow electronic brackets, court assignments, and match results in real time.
The event was made even more enjoyable with complimentary bagels, donuts, muffins, kolaches, coffee, water, and beer, creating a festive atmosphere for players and spectators alike.
Congratulations to Spin Doctors on capturing the Spring Championship to Cartwright Butteri on an outstanding runner-up finish, and thank you to every player, volunteer, and Board member who helped make another Robson Ranch Bocce Club playoff tournament a tremendous success.
