Decked out in Red, White and Blue and our favorite Red Raider Scarlet and Black, the Robson Red Raiders celebrated the 250th Anniversary of the USA in grand style. Red Raiders and Red Raider families gathered on July 4 for the Robson Annual July 4 Parade.
Robson residents, children and grandchildren of all ages, rode the decorated float, enjoyed music recorded by the “Goin’ Band from Raiderland”, and shared candy and July 4 revelry with the Robson Ranch crowd who lined the parade route, many of whom shouted “Guns Up” and showed both USA and Tech support.
The Red Raider Club entry featured banner bearers, twirlers, a Masked Rider, walkers who gave out candy, a decorated truck and float featuring Raider Red holding U.S. flags, decorated golf carts, and a decorated convertible. The Robson Ranch Red Raiders are proud to support our heritage and the wonderful country in which we live.
Special thanks to Greg Roberts, owner of B-Tex Trailers in Rhome, Texas for providing the truck and trailer used in the parade. Also, thanks to Bruce Ashman at Ponder Feed Store, for allowing us to use bales of hay for the float.
Robson Ranch Red Raider Club has almost 170 members and is open to all Robson residents with a tie to Texas Tech University. Whether you attended for a short time, graduated from Tech, have a family member who graduated from Tech, lived in West Texas or Lubbock, or just are a Texas Tech Red Raider fan, you are welcome to join.
