Democratic Club Gears Up for the General Election

Richard Kushmaul

With the November elections very present on attendees’ minds, the Robson Ranch Democratic Club (RRDC) met at their regular monthly meeting to discuss local candidates, view three short political advertisements, and discuss current campaign financing of various statewide candidates. The club has mounted a robust club program for obtaining and making available candidate political signs, some of which were picked up at the meeting. Precinct 4185 Democratic Chair Jane Scholz gave a report on the recent robust attendance at the Sept. 1 “Stand up for Election Day Voting Centers” appearance before the county commissioner’s court and showed a three-minute video of her presentation before the court. She also recruited phone banking volunteers. Vicky Baker reported on and provided details on the RRDC “Get Out The Vote” post card writing project that she is steering. The meeting included an open forum where attendees expressed opinions and asked questions about candidates, their financing, and Robson Ranch resident compliance with ALC guidelines for yard sign political advertisements.

Various candidate campaign websites and social media links can be found at: www.rrdemocraticclub.com/voting/2026candidates. Yard signs for candidates are also still available for a nominal cost at the RRDC website: www.rrdemocraticclub.com/yardsign.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the clubhouse. Everyone is invited.

Robson Ranch Democrats learn about civic and political issues together respecting each other’s opinions. We meet candidates, register voters, volunteer to help elect Democrats, serve as election workers … and have a good time together.
