At just 19 years old, Marcie Erickson felt a calling from God to become a missionary. That calling eventually led her to Ethiopia, where she began what would become Grace Center Foundation with just five foster children.
Twenty years later, Grace Center is touching the lives of approximately 50,000 people each year at two locations. As Executive Director, Marcie has witnessed firsthand how faith, compassion and perseverance can transform individuals, families and entire communities.
Today, Grace Center employs more than 300 Ethiopian staff members and provides a holistic approach to helping people build healthier, more hopeful lives. Its many programs include daycare and foster care, in-country adoption, healing prayer, medical services, food and water distribution, K to eight education, with plans to expand to K to 12 and small-business support.
A Story You Won’t Want to Miss
Recently returned from Ethiopia, Marcie will share powerful stories and videos from her latest trip, introducing us to some of the remarkable people whose lives have been transformed through Grace Center’s work. Her story offers a personal glimpse into the challenges, victories and faith behind this extraordinary mission.
Marcie is also the author of two books: Glimpse Africa: The Women of Bahir Dar, which shares stories and photographs of people connected with Grace Center, and Mama Meheret: Memoir of a Missionary, which chronicles her personal journey of a life dedicated to serving others.

Women Sharing Hope will meet on the third Friday of October, rather than its usual first Friday gathering. Please plan to join us on Friday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m.
Women Sharing Hope is a Christ-centered club where friendships grow, faith deepens, and God’s love is shared freely. All Robson women and men are welcome, and there are no membership dues.
