The Early Morning Breakfast Club

The August Breakfast Ride took us eastward. Ride Captain Carrylyn Jacobs, arranged for an early “Beat the Heat Short Breakfast Ride” to the Seven Mile Café. These days it is not often we can start a ride while the temperature is still in double digits, so we take advantage when we can. Nine adventuresome souls took to the scenic backroads to Highland Village. They always serve up a good meal to go well with the great fellowship of riding.
As this update is being penned a hardy band of long distance riders are traveling on the Annual Angel Fire and Colorado trip. The trip will be Aug 22 through the 30th, and the route will cover Denton to Amarillo, to Angel Fire, Gunnison and Durango, heading back through Pagosa Springs, Chama, and Taos. I wish we could all go to enjoy the great scenery, fantastic roads, and the cooler temperatures in the mountains. I promise a full report next month.
In September we are looking forward to cooler temperatures and our annual jaunt down to Granbury to see Footloose at the Opera House! Dinner will be at Ketzler’s Schnitzel Haus.
Once again the club is participating in the Coats for Kids Ride (C4KR) of Denton County. The collection of coats will run through Saturday, Nov. 28th. This will be our 11th year to participate. The ride collects new coats for school children, from pre-school to high school, in all the school districts in Denton County.
Robsonites have been very generous with their donations. Please consider donating a coat or making a monetary contribution. You can bring a coat to any club member you know or one of the club officers: Mike Conley, Carrylyn Jacobs, Scott Baker, Stan Brein, Ron Bane, Keith Breiner, and Jeff Stieber. Stan will have a collection box outside his door (11700 Lynnbrook Drive).
