Great crowds, great bargains!

The weather was perfect, the donations were amazing, and the volunteer help outstanding! Add to that a great shopping crowd, and you have a tremendous fundraiser for our two schools. So many wonderful people and businesses were involved, and the After Schoolers wanted to shout a big thank you to everyone!
After a year and a half, it seemed like many of our Robson Ranch donors were ready to clean attics and garages. The members spent many days and hours pricing, sorting, and pre-selling donations. The response was beyond expectations. The members involved in those chores were also hauling boxes and truckloads of items from six members’ garages to the sale in the dark, early Saturday morning. A special thank you to the Robson men who used their trucks and muscle to help us before and after the sale, with loading and unloading and finally helping reload what was left at the end. Their contribution can’t be measured!
Kudos go to the refreshment committee. Hot coffee, fresh donuts, and lots of home-baked goodies were available, along with a volunteer pulling the little goodie wagon for the outside vendors.
Again, our seven student helpers from LaGrone’s Academy were amazing and helped many of the shoppers load their large purchases into their vehicles. The students will get community service hours and also received gift cards for their help. Another outstanding volunteer was Rodrigo Segura from Lamar Bank, Northlake Branch.
Thank you to all the wonderful people who purchased slots for their own sale. We received wonderful feedback on their successful day.
Special recognition to Jeremy Trietsch and staff for all their support and help through some challenging logistics. As Marti Conley, chairman of the garage sale, so appropriately said, “It takes a village,” and Robson Ranch is a golden village!
Every cent raised will be used to support teachers at Borman Elementary and LaGrone Academy. Come and join us to do great things for education and have fun on organized field trips throughout the year for members, spouses, and friends. We meet the second Friday of each month, September through June, at 10:30 a.m. Membership is $15.
