Bocce Club Annual Meeting Held

Susan Parker

On Jan. 11 the Bocce Club held its first annual general meeting. The agenda included election of officers, Treasurer Report, and realignment of teams.

The new officers are: President Frank Cianci, 1st Vice President John Humphries, 2nd Vice President Mike McKinney, Secretary Kathleen Dial, Treasurer Dorothy Andrews, At Large Carole DiQuollo, At Large Rick Bidne, At Large Steve Ventura, and At Large Jim Mitchell.

Club President Frank Cianci announced that the proposed new bocce courts are still on track and are a number one priority for Robson Ranch properties. The final project is proposed to include several amenities, such as a ramada, storage, a window for food services, etc. The construction will likely begin sometime in the Spring of 2022, between the clubhouse and the CATC building, but may not actually be ready until the 2023 season. The facility will be state-of-the-art, which could facilitate tournament play.

The new format for play will include games on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday only on the Grill patio. No games may be played on grass. Three or four sessions will be played each day. Those teams who played on Mondays and the 11th team in each division of the other divisions from last year will be rescheduled. All others will keep their schedules from last year if they choose. Captains must submit rosters in Excel format by Feb. 15 and pay (in a single check) the dues for their team members. The spring season will start on March 22 and will go for nine weeks.

Everyone is looking forward to another fun season of bocce. For more information on bocce, contact Frank Cianci at [email protected].
