Christmas at the Ranch

Frances Hackley, Publicity Chair

The Robson Ranch Music Club had an amazingly heartfelt, uplifting patriotic tribute to our veterans during our annual Veterans Day Concert. The splendid turnout of an appreciative audience made the event both glorious and humbling. One of our new choir members, Michele Boscoe, had a lovely solo in “Oh, America!”—just another highlight of the concert. The concert did a compelling job of remembering veterans still with us and those who have passed.

The choir quickly moves on to our annual Christmas Concert, “Christmas at the Ranch.” Come and hear some of your favorite holiday tunes as well as possibly a new favorite. This concert is guaranteed to ease you right into the holiday spirit and warm the cockles of your heart. Doesn’t everybody want warm cockles? They will be performing favorites like “Mary Did You Know,” “Breath of Heaven,” “Let It Snow,” and “The First Noel,” just to name a few, all to help you find and enjoy the tranquility of the season. The concerts are on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m. Tickets will be on sale Nov. 29 through Dec. 15 for $10 in the lobby of the clubhouse on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tickets are also available via PayPal for $11 on our website rrmusicclub.com and at the door the day of performances for $12.

Soon following the Christmas Concerts, on Dec. 31, the club will host the New Year’s Eve Dinner/Dance. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with cocktails (cash bar). Tickets will be on sale Dec. 6 through 21 in the lobby of the clubhouse every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $70 per person, which includes a meal consisting of salad, London broil/red wine demi glaze, chicken breast with piccata sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans almondine, rolls, and fancy cupcakes, all followed by a champagne toast at 11 p.m. Tickets are also available on our website rrmusicclub.com via PayPal for $72. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Michael O’Brien of Party Time Texas. Michael O’Brien has been a dance instructor and party motivator in the DFW area for 30 years. He has an extensive collection of music from Big Band Swing to today’s Top Hits. He is sure to keep everyone dancing right into the new year. All info is available at rrmusicclub.com. The club will also be doing Singing Valentines again, so watch for information on signing up for those.

As we end the year, the club would like to extend a great big thank you to our outgoing Music Club officers. These folks were instrumental in carrying the club through COVID-19 and out the other side. They are Dick Cecil, Jeff Miller, Barbara Leurig, and Carol Copeland. A special thanks to Carol who has tackled two jobs, events, and costuming. For over five years, she has given countless hours to these jobs, and it has been truly appreciated.
