The Robson Ranch Drama Club is a group of residents who perform plays and skits for the community. We are highlighting two actors who have entertained you in many of our past plays. Let’s get to know them in their own words.
Vickie Parr
I met my husband Larry in Paris, France. I was traveling and on vacation. Larry was in the Navy and had taken an excursion to Paris with some of his shipmates. We met at Mama’s Pizzeria! I was living in D.C., and Larry got orders there. His office was within walking distance from my apartment. A divine intervention!
After my career as Federal Contract Manager for General Dynamics and the Department of Defense, and Larry in the U.S. Navy, we felt like it was time to come home. We both have family in the DFW area. Larry grew up in El Paso, Texas, and I grew up in Oklahoma. We moved to Robson Ranch in December of 2018 from Chester County, Pa.
My hobbies include genealogy, crafts, music, reading, gardening, and, of course, Drama Club! I have had the opportunity to travel the world and see many interesting places. When I see the beautiful scenery, I think of things that have happened in those places and the people who have lived there. I feel humbled to be a part of God’s creation. We love living at Robson Ranch. Our community continues to grow and diversify. We love hearing other people’s stories and life experiences. I view the Drama Club as an opportunity to share some laughs and entertain my neighbors. Every planning meeting, rehearsal, performance, and social only strengthens those relationships.

My wife and I had lived in Pennsylvania all our lives. We wanted to get away from the frigid winters when we retired. After visiting a relative in Texas while on vacation, we discovered Robson Ranch and were sold immediately. We moved to Robson Ranch in November of 2014. I was employed by an auto parts distribution company that supplied dealerships with parts in the Northeast. My job was to consult and problem solve with parts managers and service technicians on how to efficiently service the customers.
Outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and swimming are some of my favorite things. Scuba diving the depths of the ocean in the Bahamas was most interesting. I also enjoy an occasional game of chess and am an antique car enthusiast and may eventually own my own favorite muscle car someday, a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner. I am an avid music lover and enjoy almost every genre from classical to rock. Over a 10-year span, I worked in a mental health facility halfway house as a counselor to help people integrate back into society. I have many success stories.
I love being in the Drama Club and acting with such talented actors here. I have always loved live performances, and to be a part of it is the thrill of a lifetime.
