The Fellowship At The Ranch Men’s summer Bible study is reading and discussing the book, Lies Men Believe And The Truth That Sets Them Free by best-selling author, Robert Wolgemuth. The book focuses on the 40 lies that men are most prone to believe and that if acted upon, can bring destruction to a man, his marriage, children, and career. Men have an enemy who, like a seasoned angler, opens up his tackle box and selects the lure most likely to attract his intended prey…and it’s often the bait men are least likely to consider a big deal. But each lie we bite on ambushes our hearts. It’s time for men to fight back and uncover Satan’s schemes and wield the key weapon God has given us for the battle—the Truth. Come join us in the Clubhouse on Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
The Women of Fellowship At The Ranch recently attended a special four-hour Seminar, “The Promise of the Holy Spirit; Not an Orphan” taught by Lisa Bates and Zoey Myers. Using the “Three Question Method” and “Pray for the Holy Spirit who inspired the passage to illuminate it for you” the ladies were shown how to read and study Bible passages using John 14:15-26 and John 16:5-15. Looking for the “Facts, Lessons, Applications” for each verse helps focus the study of the passages and to dig deeper into the meaning of the verses rather than just reading them. In addition, the women were each given a quilt square as a visual reminder they are “stitched” to God through the Holy Spirit. The Seminar was hosted by Kathy Jeffrey in her home and included a delicious taco salad lunch. The program began and ended with prayer and singing. The regularly scheduled Women’s Bible study is on summer break.
Our Sunday morning Bible study; “The Doctrine of God” is taught by Elder Doug Hughes in the Bandera room from 9 to 10 a.m. You are invited to join us and learn about the existence, attributes and essence of God. Do you ever think about how to respond to those who don’t believe or how to talk about God? This class will help you develop a better understanding of God through the Bible.
