The Robson Ranch Photography Club presented a workshop on Wednesday, June 3 in the Creative Arts Technology Center. The workshop was open to all Robson Ranch residents.
Club member Jerry Schlesinger discussed the critical role of depth of field (DOF) in photography and why getting it right can dramatically improve your images. A frequent mistake is using an inappropriate DOF—either too shallow or too deep for the intended subject. Jerry explained the key factors that control depth of field, along with practical techniques that go beyond basic camera settings, including focus stacking. Special attention was given to the unique challenges of close-up and macro photography, where precise DOF control is essential, along with some recommended hardware solutions to achieve outstanding results. The information presented was very much appreciated by those in attendance.
