Yard of the Month: December Yard of the Month is in the Diamond Woods section at 9701 Salford Way, the home of Candace J. Anderson. She built her home in 2020 after years in Round Rock, Texas. Time spent in Santa Fe, N.M., influences her home décor and the outdoor vibrant painted pots. Her husband helped her appreciate lots of color through the landscape, regardless of the season. She chose a lot with green space on two sides, with wetlands behind and the home to a fun assortment of birds. When I visited today, her Red Oak was so vibrant. She personally designed her curving flowerbeds, walkway, and plantings. This fall she’s particularly pleased with the single purple fall asters that have grown very well in both side yards. The ALC approved red yucca, and she added a “fake” yucca with yellow flowers. Red and pink Drift roses, Dwarf Maiden grass, Gulf Muhly grass, Butterfly Bush, and Desert Willow are planted in the backyard. Those grasses sway so hypnotically in the back walkway. The front yard displays Red Bud tree, Rock Rose, Lavender Crepe Myrtle, Lilac bush, Texas Sage, and Russian Sage, to name just a few.
Candace appreciates visitors, so don’t hesitate to knock when you visit. You can easily walk to the backyard through the green space on the left. Congratulations, Candace Anderson, you have a beautifully planned and implemented landscape. Your Diamond Woods friends enjoy your hard work.
January Garden Club meeting: The first 2024 meeting is Monday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Lonestar Room at the Robson Ranch clubhouse. Our program has not been determined yet, so please watch the regular HOA notices for updates.
At the Garden Club we enjoy sharing our issues and our triumphs. Meet new neighbors and learn something new. Let’s appreciate all the landscape workers at Robson Ranch. The yellow pansies display my desire for sunshine in the coming months. Our Ranch presents itself well.
Our club meets on the third Monday of each month in the clubhouse Lonestar Room. September to September annual family dues are $10. To join the Garden Club before the Jan. 15 meeting, please contact Nancy at 817-706-9501 or [email protected].
