The Robson Ranch Garden Club held its last gathering of the year with the annual Tour of Gardens on May 18. Members met at the home of our president, Betsy Duncan. After being given the addresses to visit, our members carpooled to the various addresses.
Five homes comprised the tour and board member Joanne Horst enlisted the homeowners and coordinated the tour. Each of the gardens reflected the particular interests of each homeowner and all seemed proud to discuss their garden plans with any who had questions. All used their garden spaces to great advantage taking into consideration sun exposure, their own interests, and their desires for maintenance. This annual event is only open to members of the Garden Club and is one more good reason to become a member of Robson Ranch Garden Club!
Members took this opportunity to thank Garden Club vice president, Debbie Greenslade, who has been an integral part of planning activities and programs for the past three years. Her own garden is an inspiration and she will now have a little extra time to enjoy it without the responsibility of being an officer in the club. Thanks, Debbie!
Anyone interested in the Garden Club, please save your egg cartons, and clamshell-type berry produce baskets during the summer and bring them to our monthly meetings. We will deliver them to Shiloh Field to help with their dispensing of produce to food pantries and kitchens in the Denton area.
Remember, we meet September through May each year and dues are $10 per household. Our first meeting of the new year will be on Monday, September 21, at 10:30 am in the clubhouse. A reminder will be sent in August.
