Thank you, Emily Richardson, for your time on July 18 presenting the topic of Lineage Societies such as the Mayflower Society, Jamestown Society, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), and many others. There are some amazing societies to reach out to in our family research.
In July we had a Zoom call with Mark Olsen who explained in detail the Family Tree Maker software program, along with a list of websites to use in further family research. This program also works with Ancestry.com.
On Monday, Sept. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m., Emily Richardson will be presenting “Round 2 of the Family Search,” a refresher course on how to use Family Search, along with new additions to the site that have occurred in the past 18 months. This will be a “hands-on” time together, so bring your computer!
On Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m., the topic will be “Using Your Smartphone Camera When a Scanner Is Not Available.” Our guest speaker Tony Hanson will help you understand how to obtain high-quality images of documents and photographs in environments typically encountered by genealogists.
Upcoming Help Sessions will be Monday, Aug. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and
Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
