The Robson Ranch Happy Tails Dog Club meets the second Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. in the CATC building, Room 103. We invite everyone who has a dog or is interested in dogs to join our club. New member dues are $10 per household per year, and renewal is $5. Check out our club and our pets on our new website rrhappytailsdogclub.weebly.com.
At our Dec. 11 meeting, Stacy Smith, the founder and executive director of Humane Tomorrow (humanetomorrow.org), kept everyone’s attention with interesting stories about this local rescue organization. Stacy brought her rescue dog Breezy and shared the story of the rescue/hoarding situation Breezy came from—she was one of over 100 dogs saved from a horrible situation. Stacy is also very involved with the Texas legislature in changing laws to be more humane towards our companion animals—most recently in the passage of the anti-tethering law signed by Governor Abbott on Oct. 25, 2021. Many thanks to all the members who joined us for this very interesting and informative meeting.
Our January meeting will be on Jan. 8 and will consist of a demonstration by Rebecca Laschinger on making healthy dog food, along with Lorraine Wilson’s attempt at making homemade dog treats and jerky for dogs. There will be a pet recipe exchange, along with dog treat samples to take home to your pets.
The February meeting plans are still in the works, but our meeting will be on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10:30 a.m. in Room 103 in the CATC building.
