Serenova is a professional woodwind quintet based in Dallas, Texas. They are formerly known as the Center Woodwind Quintet, where they met as graduate students at the University of North Texas. Over the past few years, the quintet has made competition appearances across the country including the 11th annual Coltman Chamber Music Competition, the Music Teachers National Association Chamber Competition, and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Committed to the repertoire of our time, the quintet commissioned a new work for woodwind quintet, “Unfolding Path Through Reflected Light by Jeffrey Mumford and premiered it at the 2025 Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Ill., one of the largest music conferences in the world. They also commissioned and premiered “When Sound Left,” a piece for woodwind quintet and narration written by three-time Grammy nominated composer, Miguel del Aguila. Serenova frequently presents outreach concerts at public schools, public libraries, and retirement homes throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Members hold graduate degrees from the University of North Texas, as well as additional degrees from the University of Michigan, University of Colorado Boulder, the Eastman School of Music, the University of Northern Colorado, and the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.

Tickets will go on sale at the Office of Banquets & Events July 29 from 9 to 11 a.m. Cash, check, credit card, and member accounts are acceptable forms of payment. Seating will be theater style.

This group is raising money to fund an outreach chamber music tour to Title I public schools across the TX/Mexico border, as well as raising the funds to commission a new piece for woodwind quintet. $5 per ticket will go towards this fundraiser.
