You hear more and more on the news today about the realities of sex trafficking happening all around us. We hear statistics like “Texas is ranked number two in the Nation for the number of calls made to the National Human Trafficking hotline.” But do we really know what it looks like, right here, right now, in our backyard.
The Kiwanis Club is proud to be sponsoring an event on behalf of Refuge for Women North Texas. On Jan. 30, 2020, come hear from a panel of experts explaining and answering questions that you, the community, may have on what this reality looks like.
This panel will be made up of representatives from The Department of Homeland Security, private investigators that are on the front lines looking for missing and exploited children, local law enforcement, a survivor of sex trafficking, and other organizations that walk with victims through a healing process from the traumatic effects that this industry has on individuals.
Our heart is to answer your questions, equip you to be a voice for the voiceless, and leave you equipped and empowered to make a difference. Sex trafficking is happening all around us and we need to come together as a community and make a difference. Bring a friend; we hope to see you there! For more information, contact [email protected] or follow Refuge for Women North Texas on Facebook.
The event is Jan. 30, 2020, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Robson Ranch Clubhouse. This is a free event for the community.
