What do you get when the Kiwanis Club and RR Softball All Stars team up? An exciting day of on-the-edge-of-your-seat softball and raising money for local charities. The RR men’s and women’s Softball All Stars battled it out with the UNT softball teams in a game of slow-pitch softball on Saturday, May 4, at our own Field of Dreams at Robson Ranch. Everyone caught some fun at this free event filled with plenty of excitement, all for a good cause.
While the play-by-play action was being announced, players and spectators alike enjoyed that traditional ballpark fare served hot and right off the grill by the Kiwanis Club. There’s no better deal than a hot dog, chips and a drink for $5. All the proceeds raised benefit the various charities and community service organizations Kiwanis supports in our own community.
Everyone scored a home run, and we cheered on the Robson Ranch home team while grabbing a hot dog (or two, or three) and supporting those organizations that work tirelessly to keep our Denton community vital and strong. Want to step up to the plate and serve your community? Come visit the Kiwanis Club the first and third Fridays of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Clubhouse.
