Ranch Hands Rescue, a North Texas–based nonprofit, is transforming lives through a unique, trauma-informed model that serves both people and animals in need. Best known for operating Bob’s House of Hope—the first safe house in the United States dedicated to young male survivors of sex trafficking—the organization provides a safe, structured environment where healing, stability, and long-term recovery are possible.
Recently, Andrea Jones, director of business development for Ranch Hands Rescue, presented to the Kiwanis Club at Robson Ranch, offering insight into the organization’s mission, programs, and expanding impact across the region. During her presentation, Andrea highlighted how Ranch Hands Rescue integrates trauma-informed care with animal-assisted therapy, allowing residents to participate in the rescue and rehabilitation of animals while working through their own healing journeys. This dual approach fosters responsibility, trust, empathy, and resilience.
Andrea also shared exciting news about the organization’s continued growth. Ranch Hands Rescue is preparing to open a new transitional living home with enhanced case management for minors, serving both boys and girls. This program will be the only of its kind in the area, providing emergency stabilization and comprehensive, wraparound services for youth who have experienced sexual abuse or trafficking. Services will include safe housing, food, clothing, medical and dental care, mental health support, life skills training, and individualized case management to help youth move toward independence and stability.
Andrea’s presentation emphasized the urgent need for increased awareness and community support, particularly around the often–overlooked issue of male victims of trafficking. She encouraged attendees to get involved through volunteering, advocacy, and financial support, noting that community engagement plays a vital role in sustaining and expanding the organization’s work.
As Ranch Hands Rescue continues to grow, its mission remains clear: to provide hope, healing, and a future for those who have experienced trauma. Through innovative programming, strong partnerships, and a commitment to serving the most vulnerable, the organization is making a lasting impact—one life at a time. ranchhandsrescue.org/bobs-house-of-hope.
