Cindy Kleckner, Registered and Licensed Dietitian, will address eating plans for those over 50 on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.

Living Well at Robson Ranch will sponsor Cindy Kleckner, Registered and Licensed Dietitian, on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the clubhouse.

Ms. Kleckner will share the best eating plan for preventing, delaying and minimizing the conditions associated with life after 50. She tells us that “Eating right is the driving force for aging right! The goal is not just living longer but living well; active and engaged lives with less disability.” Further, she says that “experts say that aging is not necessarily set in stone—it’s the slow weakening of our body’s building blocks and gradual decline of our natural repair processes.”

As the professional dietician and culinary expert for the Cooper Fitness Center Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, Cindy works with clients to improve diet, lose excess pounds and enjoy optimal health. She teaches Nutrition and Menu Planning at the Collin College Preston Ridge Campus in the Institute for Culinary Arts and Hospitality and is a specialist in cardiovascular corporate wellness, weight management, sports and culinary nutrition.

Cindy received her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and completed her dietetic internship at Texas Health Resources (formerly Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas). She is a former president of the Dallas Dietetic Association and Texas Dietetic Association media spokesperson and continues to be very active in specialty groups, including Food and Culinary Professionals, Nutrition Entrepreneurs and Sports, and Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition Dietetic Practice Groups.

Following the seminar will be a question and answer period; residents will have an opportunity to ask individual questions and inquire about defensive dining and types of eating that negatively impact our health. Be sure to attend this enlightening and engaging seminar that is so important to our active community and to enter your name in the drawing for a book co-authored in 2011 by Cindy, Hypertension Cookbooks for Dummies. Gift certificates to the Farmers Market will also be given out. DATCA, co-sponsor of LWRR programs, will provide refreshments and door prizes.

Please RSVP your attendance to Marie Milleage at [email protected].
