At the regular Thursday Playday on May 27, the Men’s Golf Association (MGA) played its annual Support Our Troops Scramble. All of the regular weekly prize money collected by the participating members plus several hundred dollars in additional donations was earmarked to be donated to the local chapter of Support Our Troops. Those donations totaled $615! Tim Hughes, the Playday Committee Chair said that “All of the MGA members really stepped up to support this worthy cause.”
Then on June 1, at the Robson Ranch Men’s Golf Association (RRMGA) board meeting, President Lee Griswold presented to Darin Burk, the President of the Robson Ranch Chapter of Support Our Troops, a check for $615 to further help the great work that is done by that organization. While presenting the check, Lee thanked Darin for all he does with the Support Our Troops organization and told Darin that, “Our members greatly appreciate all the support your group gives to our Robson Ranch military members and their families.”
Support Our Troops, Inc. is a proactive, non-political, non-profit, volunteer, charitable organization that helps provide for the material, physical, and emotional needs of military men and women at home and abroad. They meet and greet troops at DFW Airport, distribute care packages, cards, and letters to service personnel, and provide financial support to various other military charities with a similar mission.
