Music Club Celebrating 20 Years with Greatest Hits

Frances Hackley

The Robson Ranch Choir will present “Robson’s Greatest Hits: 20 Years of Memories” on April 20 at 7 p.m., and April 21 at 4 p.m. The Music Club is celebrating 20 years of presenting Robson with concerts and musical events. The club’s objective has always been to offer musical entertainment for all to enjoy right here on the property. No driving, no traffic, and for goodness’ sake, no paying for parking! These concerts will pay homage to the last 20 years of doing just that—bringing great entertainment to the community with talent found right here at Robson. Great performances from the past were meticulously chosen by some incredibly special people, of course, under the direction of Dr. Arturo Ortega, who brings brilliant musicians as well, and the gifted accompaniment of Paul Lees. Plus, a special guest director, Mr. Joe Arnett, the very first Robson Choir director, will direct chosen songs. The choir will perform well-loved songs, such as The Phantom of the Opera medley, “Shenandoah,” “Over the Rainbow,” and “What I Did for Love.” Aimed at walking down memory lane, a wonderful assortment of doo-wop songs like “Teenager in Love,” “Book of Love,” “Save the Last Dance,” and “Goodnight Sweetheart” will also be performed. The men are reaching back to their melancholy performance of “Bring Him Home” from Les Misérables and an ethereal rendition of “Hallelujah” from Shrek. The ladies take it back to the ‘60s with a cheeky medley that includes “Johnny Angel,” “It’s My Party,” and “I Only Want to Be with You.” Then just gush over a duet resurrected by Aileen Oliver and Leonard Marusak. You may also see yourself in a slideshow presentation of the last 20 years of the Music Club’s concert and karaoke events. Great songs + great musicians + great memories + great directors + great talent = one great concert! A great concert you do not want to miss!
