New vision and magic come to our rapidly growing club

New Vision

Our photo club was privileged to have Edgar Miller present “The Secret Sauce of Photography, Ingredients Included” at our March meeting. Edgar has a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree and has worked and taught photography for many years. Formerly the Education Director at Fort Worth Camera, he is now self-employed with his own business, Edgar Miller Images. He is very enthusiastic about teaching and sharing the ingredients of a good photo. As well as showing us some basic camera skills, he showed us how to see with new vision photographically. He discussed how to use the qualities of light, alter perspective, compose scenes with good composition and be creative. Edgar compared photography with music by describing how our raw photo is like the musical score and our interpretation of it using post production, whether dark room with film or editing with Photoshop, creates the symphony. Check out Edgar’s website, www.edgarmillerimages.com, to see his other services, including family and individual portraits. Edgar is available to come to your home to help you individually or as a group if you need help with your camera or any other aspect of photography. He has an amazing ability to make it easy to understand the concepts of both your camera and photography in general and is so willing to share his knowledge.

Magic

Are you one of those people on the Ranch with numerous boxes of old and new color and black and white photos? Do you have old movie films of family members and vacations that you took years ago? Well, before they all end up in a dumpster, you better see what magic our photo club member Mary Ornberg can perform. She will be our speaker at our monthly meeting April 15, 7:00 p.m. Room 104 CATC Bldg. Believe me, she can perform wonders. Mary will show you how to organize and edit photos and put them all into one beautiful presentation on one small DVD that you can share with your family. She can also give you advice on putting your photos into a coffee table book, that your family can enjoy for years to come. If you are coming to this presentation, be sure to get there early. Everyone on the Ranch is invited as you do not have to be a member of our club to attend. Hope to see you there.
