You’ve likely heard the famous line, “Build it and they will come” from the classic baseball movie Field of Dreams. The NxNW ladies take a simple three-step approach to trying something new: “Suggest it, Show of hands, Let’s do it.”
That spirit is how the monthly Whine Chat women of Osprey, Brant, Cinnamon, and Willet keep Section 10-2 engaged and active—by suggesting new ideas and events for neighbors to enjoy.
At the May Whine Chat, someone suggested gathering for a monthly breakfast. It was discussed and the second Monday of each month was the chosen time for a ladies’ breakfast at Northlake Café. One suggestion was all it took—hands went up, and the answer was, “Yes, let’s do it!”
Amy Perry volunteered to coordinate the monthly event, and on June 8, fifteen neighborhood ladies met at Northlake Café for breakfast, fellowship, and the inaugural monthly gathering.
Our server was wonderful. He took every order correctly, kept the coffee flowing, brought out all the meals at the same time, and served us with a smile and a great attitude. He also shared how grateful the restaurant was that we chose Northlake Café for our gathering. Since Northlake Café does so much for Robson clubs, it felt like the perfect place to support.
As we left to go our separate ways and continue with our day, we reflected on the great food and the time spent together. It was a meaningful reminder that time shared with friends is never wasted. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, but those errands and chores will still be there.
The ladies who attend future breakfasts may change, but the special bond and memories we create will remain. If you visit Northlake Café on the second Monday of the month, look for the group of ladies from the best neighborhood in Robson Ranch!
