The first of four travel golf events for the Women’s Golf Association (WGA) began in June with an enjoyable and memorable outing at the Oakmont Country Club.
Each year, the women golfers of Oakmont and Robson’s WGA come together to play at each other’s courses. For this year’s event, Oakmont served as the host. The outing was organized by Oakmont’s Jennifer McLaughlin-Campbell along with the club’s professional staff, and Robson’s WGA Travel Golf coordinator, Cindy Sterling.
To foster camaraderie and ensure everyone enjoyed the course, each foursome included at least one Oakmont woman who guided and assisted the Robson players around Oakmont’s beautiful layout. The Robson women greatly appreciated the Oakmont hosts’ warm hospitality and helpfulness throughout the day.
After the round, Oakmont provided a delicious lunch, giving everyone the opportunity to continue socializing and to meet even more fellow golfers.
There is great anticipation for the WGA’s annual Member/Guest Invitational Tournament in Sept., a favorite among Oakmont women. Oakmont is always well represented at this event, and participants look forward to reconnecting with many Oakmont friends.
