The January 2015 meeting of the Robson Ranch Photo Club started with our new president, Tim Battle, presenting a number of goals for our club. These included, among others: establishing a mentoring system for members, developing a community outreach program and a new protocol for submitting monthly photo entries. There were 28 members that voted on the submissions, including six first-time visitors. There was excitement in the room as individual photos were presented using the club’s new projector. Winners will be announced, ribbons presented and pictures displayed in the showcase at the February meeting.

The February theme for photography entries is “Seasons.” Each member can submit a total of three photos for judging. The entries will be anonymous, using the member’s individual membership number to identify each entry.

The February program on Monday night, February 16, will include a talk on “Composition.” Sometimes a photo can go from mediocre to stunning with a simple adjustment of composition. Tim Battle will be giving an enlightening talk on simple compositional adjustments that you can make to your photograph that can make the image go from “blah” to “ahh.” This talk is directed to all levels of photographers interested in giving their pictures that simple tweak to improve their results. We all need a refresher!

The Photography Club is open to all residents of Robson Ranch. You are all invited to come check this meeting out on Monday, February 16, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 104 of the CATC. New members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!
