Pilot Knob Rotary Supports Schools
Pat Henderson
Each year many students go back to school needing basic classroom supplies that families cannot provide. Pilot Knob Rotary Club helps meet that need by providing backpacks, notebooks, pens, glue sticks, headphones and other items collected by Communities in Schools of North Texas (CSNT). CSNT works with 62 schools across three counties connecting students to caring adults and community resources to transform how they see and experience the world around them. Their goal is to empower students to confront and overcome personal challenges and structural barriers—so they can take charge of the future they want for themselves, their communities and each other. This goal aligns with the goal of Rotary International of “Service above Self”.
Pilot Knob Rotary Club meets each Friday at noon in the Boardroom at the Wildhorse Grill and invites all to join us.

Potential of 138 Lives Saved—Pilot Knob Blood Drive
Pat Henderson
Thanks to the many loyal blood donors and eight new donors, Pilot Knob Rotary Club completed another successful blood drive. Carter BloodCare reported we collected 50 total units on Sept. 12, bringing the calendar year total collections to 198 units. Participating in blood drives is one of the best ways to ensure your neighbors, family and other patients have access to the lifesaving blood they need. Both Pilot Knob Rotary Club and Carter BloodCare appreciate the efforts of all those who donated. A big thank you also to the Carter BloodCare staff, Shelbi Berg, Linda Caron, the Robson Patrol and others with the Robson Ranch HOA.
Every whole blood donation has the potential to save three lives (red blood cells, platelets, plasma) and every double red donation can save two lives. America has the safest and most abundant blood supply in the world. That’s because of Americans who know every privilege has a corresponding responsibility, and every right has a corresponding duty. The practice of giving also aligns with altruistic behaviors that have been linked to better health outcomes and increased longevity. Rotarians understand completely.
The remaining blood drive date for 2026 is Nov. 21. Mark your calendar now and look for HOA announcements as we get closer to the date.
