WGA Opening Day Participants

The Robson Ranch Women’s Golf Association (WGA) officially kicked off its 2026 season on March 3. Prior to that, however, a smaller and mightier WGA contingent led the way.
This group, known as The Polar Bear League, is a group of WGA members who brave the elements in January and February to knock the winter rust from their golf game, and to compete for fun and prizes. If the temperature rises above 45 degrees, members of the Polar Bear League tee off. There are no specific games, just a contest for low net score within their flight. A minimum of three finished rounds is required to win. This year, 54 players joined the Polar Bears, and twenty women came away with cash prizes.
The winners of each flight were: First Flight: Kathy Calloway, Second Flight: Pat Sands, Third Flight: Karen Tindal, Fourth Flight: Tammy Gaither, Fifth Flight: Mary Ann Wood.
March 3 was the official opening day for the WGA, and well over half of our 153 members teed off. To assist the many non-Polar Bears in the group, the game of the day counted only the 9 easiest holes of the round. New and old members enjoyed beautiful weather, met new people, and caught up with old friends.
Prior to our post-round social time, the group gathered on the course to honor our 2025 Club Champions. Each year, the winners in the three Championship categories have a commemorative plaque placed on the course in their honor. Gabie Bull, our Silver Club Champion, chose to place her plaque on Hole #2 North, while our Robson Cup Champion, Diane Bent, chose Hole #4 North. Our official Club Champion, Sheri Watkins, now has her plaque on Hole #9. While on the course, please check out the plaques for our winners!
The WGA is a group of women at Robson Ranch who like to play 18 holes of golf, meet new people and have fun. Anyone with an established Handicap Index is invited to join any time during the year.
