This September, the Road Runners are traveling on an international journey in North America—close to home. The trip will include Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ottawa, Quebec City, and Montreal, Canada.

The journey begins on Friday, Sept. 23, in Toronto. You will have time to discover the area as you settle in after your flight.

Day two begins with a trip to Niagara Falls. Embark on a boat cruise to the base of the Falls and see the thundering water up close. Continue to Niagara-on-the-Lake and take advantage of free time to discover the “loveliest town in Canada.” You will experience Toronto’s culinary scene at a welcome dinner.

On Sunday you will stop in Rockport, gateway to the Thousand Islands National Park. Enjoy a cruise along the St. Lawrence River. Then take in the surrounding landscape of Ontario as you head to Ottawa. In Ottawa you will find a blend of French and Canadian customs.

On day four, get acquainted with Ottawa as you explore the city. Venture past the Prime Minister’s residence, embassies, and the National Art Gallery. You will also see the parliament buildings and the Rideau Canal. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please.

The next day you will say bonjour to Quebec City, the heart of Canada’s French heritage. Enjoy free time in the late afternoon to explore the Old Town. Sample local cuisine at a restaurant on Ile d’Orleans, a farmland island on the Saint Lawrence River.

On Wednesday in Quebec City, you decide what you want to do. Join a local guide and stroll the city on foot, see the Place Royale and listen to stories of days gone by in the square, or embark on a coach tour to experience the beauty and history of both Old and New Quebec. You will see the stately Chateau Frontenac, the provincial Parliament, and the St. Louis Arch. Enjoy an evening at leisure.

Day seven begins with breakfast at a local sugar shack in the Quebec countryside. You will learn about the traditions of making maple syrup. Before leaving, try a favorite treat—maple taffy on snow! Next, enjoy a visit to the Montmorency Falls and marvel at this natural wonder. The journey then continues to Montreal. From skyscrapers and cathedrals to waterways and gardens, Montreal is a blend of all things old and new. The evening is yours to explore the city.

On the last day before returning to the Ranch, enjoy a fantastic sightseeing tour of Montreal highlighting Jacques Cartier Square and McGill University. Your city tour concludes with a stop high atop Mount Royal. The afternoon is yours to explore the city at leisure. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner celebrating the end of a memorable trip.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, you will leave for the airport and fly back to Texas.
