The Robson Ranch Choir is once again honoring veterans on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, with two concerts. Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, honors those who served in the United States Armed Forces. It coincides with Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other countries marking the anniversary of the end of World War I. Major battles of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 when the armistice with Germany went into effect. At the urging of major U.S. Veteran organizations, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.
Patrons will have two chances to see and hear this enthusiastic crowd-pleasing concert. The group will perform some well-known patriotic songs as well as memorable hymns and tunes of days gone by. You will surely enjoy hearing such songs as, “Song for the Unsung Hero”, “Danny Boy”, “Doo Wah Diddy”, “Navy Hymn”, just to mention a few. This particular concert always gets everyone to their feet with pride in honoring those who have served. The concert is so energizing and prideful you just want to run to the nearest recruiting office and sign up! With nearly 500 veterans living here at the Ranch, it isn’t hard to find a veteran to turn and say, “Thank you for your service”. So, come and join in this day of honor and pride for those who served and are still serving our great country.
The concerts are on Veterans Day, Nov. 11; 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9 a.m.-11 a.m. in the Clubhouse and also at the door the day of the event. The cost is $10, at the door $12. A free ticket will be given to a veteran provided they are on the SOT Veteran List.
The Robson Choir also has other events coming up such as the Christmas Concert Dec. 21-22. The Music Club is hosting a New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance on Dec. 31, which this year will have a live band! Watch for announcements for ticket sales. You can also find all future events and pictures of our past events on our website, rrmusicclub.com.
