The Robson Ranch Community Choir is finally going to do That 70’s Show originally scheduled for spring of 2020. The choir is springing into action with rehearsals starting the first week in April. This concert will feature some of the best songs of the 70s. The audience is encouraged to be part of the show by wearing your vintage 70s attire. Step yourself into the 70s by wearing your high waisted pants, bell bottoms, leisure suits, fringed vests, granny shoes, and vinyl boots. What about your Farrah Fawcett shag, Dorothy Hamill bowl cut, or your biggest Afro hairdos? Not to mention that blue eyeshadow! So be ready to step back into the 70s and enjoy some of the best music ever written. A time when the nation was looking to end the Vietnam War and start to heal. The music written reflected the sentiments of the time. This concert will again have you “digging” these heartfelt songs of love, joy, and compassion for one another. One will enjoy listening to songs like “Sing” by the Carpenter’s, “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin, and “Best of My Love” by the Eagles. Of course, we couldn’t leave out Stevie Wonder declaring his love for his baby girl in “Isn’t She Lovely” while Joe Cocker told us all “You Are So Beautiful.” Then of course, the Bee Gees made their mark when they recorded the soundtrack for the movie “Saturday Night Fever,” staying at the top of the charts for seventeen weeks; which included “How Deep is Your Love.” This concert will indeed be an uplifting and exhilarating experience since just like in the 70s, “What the World Needs Now” is love sweet love will also be one of the songs performed. Let’s just say it will be “dyno mite.” Come in your “far out” duds and join in celebrating the incredible music of the 70s.
The concert will take place on May 29, at 7 p.m., and May 30, at 4 p.m., in the clubhouse. Tickets will be on sale for $10 in the clubhouse beginning May 10, on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9 to11 a.m. Tickets also will be available on the Music Club website www.rrmusicclub.com through PayPal for $11, and at the door the day of the event for $12. Don’t miss this wonderful show just minutes from your front door, brought to you by your very own friends and neighbors; plus you never pay for parking!
