The Robson Ranch Women’s Golf Association played a different game on June 28 and invited 52 gentlemen to play along with the women members in the annual Invite a Gent Tournament. The teams were divided into three flights according to handicaps and played the Waltz Game. Only the best score on the par 5s, the two best scores on the par 4s, and the three best scores on the par 3s for the team counted in the total score. Tournament Directors Cindy Gosmano, Jennifer Phelps, and Denise Sharp had everything well planned, even clouds to block the bright Texas summer sun.
The temperature was cooler, in the low 90s, so scores were good. Of course, two really good women golfers help contribute to the total score on each team. Lunch (grilled hamburgers with all the fixin’s and cold beers), sponsored by Heaven at Home Senior Home Care, was served while the tabulations were made. The winners were announced and payouts given out: $120 per team for first place, $100 per team for second place, $80 per team for third place.
