The Widows Ministry of Women Sharing Hope held their third quarter Meet ‘n Greet on Saturday morning, Sept. 23, in the home of Valda Bowdoin, assisted by hostesses Carol Miller, Lizzie Wichert, Peggy Stallcup, Jan Thomas, Mary Shave, Deborah Derderian, and Bobbi Stringer. The hostesses served a delicious brunch menu of casseroles, marinated asparagus, pumpkin spiced bundt cake, sweet rolls, fruit salad, quiche, deviled eggs, and cinnamon rolls.
After brunch, the ladies enjoyed learning new facts about each other through a game of icebreaker Bingo, which provided a lot of interaction and a number of laughs. The event concluded with a touching sing-song accompanied by the host, Valda Bowdoin.
The purpose of the Women Sharing Hope Widows Ministry is to bring encouragement, support, and connection to the widows of Robson Ranch. In addition to the quarterly Widows Meet ‘n Greets, the group also has a ministry with new widows and provides an opportunity for small group community with the widows’ Pray, Praise, and Play (PPP) groups under the Women Sharing Hope umbrella. Mark your calendars for our fourth quarter Meet ’n Greet on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Women Sharing Hope is open to all women who want a deeper bond with Christ and each other while glorifying God with our words and actions as we are led by the Spirit. We offer a variety of opportunities for community (Christian book club, Games for Dames, Pray, Praise, & Play small groups), education (Bible studies, Are You Prepared to be Left Behind), and support (financial advice, encouragement, prayer, Robson Angels). Generally, meetings are the third Friday of the month at the clubhouse, but for November and December, one meeting will be held on Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.
