After several weeks of self-quarantine, several resident couples laid aside internal conflict and cautiously ventured out July 2. Their destination: the Fitness Center classroom. Their mission: refresh the spirit, get some exercise, and renew acquaintances. The pivotal moment came when they were met with a hand-held, no-contact forehead thermometer plus friendly faces and smiles hidden behind masks.

Couples signed in and stepped out on the hardwood floor, distancing themselves six to 10 feet apart and began learning 2-step foot positions, frame, counting, and discovering the elements of dance. In less than half an hour, they were executing dance patterns to “Way Down Texas Way” by Asleep at the Wheel.
