Spring Is in the Air, and It’s Time for Softball!

Tom Gunther

Wow, can you believe the weather we’ve been having since late February? Beautiful sunshine and warmer weather, which just promotes the popular phenomenon known as Spring Fever. We all know that at the beginning of spring, everyone looks forward to prepping their grill and priming it for a fantastic and delicious grilling experience. Of course, spring also means that it’s the time where people look forward to engaging in outdoor sports, and we are excited to announce that we started our popular softball season here at Robson Ranch during the last week in March. Robson Ranch Softball Association (RRSA) is proud to announce that we have some new sponsors who will be supporting our leagues this season, in addition to the ones we already have in place: Dog Gone It Dog Salon out of Justin, SafeLifts of Texas, and Tommy’s Hi Tech Auto Repair out of Denton. RRSA is thankful for all the great sponsors who contribute to the success of our Softball Association, which is able to supply team jerseys with the team sponsor’s name emblazoned on the front of the jerseys and hats for each of the team players.

RRSA includes a Co-Ed League comprised of eight teams and open to all Robson residents, and a Co-Ed Seniors League comprised of four teams and open to men 70+ in age and women of all ages living at Robson Ranch. Each league will have a seven-week schedule for the regular season and a separate schedule for playoffs. You can find all the details on these two co-ed leagues by accessing the Robson Ranch Quickscores website at www.quickscores.com/robsonranch. Once you are logged in, just click the Schedules tab and select Spring 2024-Softball and select either of the co-ed leagues to determine the game dates and start times of your favorite team to follow, and come out to the Field of Dreams softball field to support your team.

RRSA operations are managed by an eight-member board consisting of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, commissioner, senior commissioner, and two members-at-large, which are listed on the RRSA Home page under the Quickscores website. RRSA also wants to acknowledge and thank the many volunteers who freely give their valuable time to help with operations and duties, which include field maintenance, umpires, announcers, scorekeepers, and game reporters. If anyone within the community has a desire to volunteer for any of these positions, please contact any member on the RRSA Board, and they will be happy to put you in contact with the right person.

Let’s play ball and have a great season of fun and camaraderie.
