Transformative Impact of Women Sharing Hope’s Widows Ministry

Women Sharing Hope, a multifaceted organization with 11 ministries, extends its transformative impact through the Widows Sharing Hope initiative. Comprising the Beauty for Ashes class, the Encouragers, quarterly Meet ‘N Greets, and the widows’ Prayer, Praise, and Play (PPP) groups, this ministry offers vital support to women navigating the challenging journey of widowhood.

Beauty for Ashes Class: Led by facilitator Bobbi Stringer, the nine-week Beauty for Ashes class serves as a beacon of hope for women in the grief recovery process. Participants testify to its power in fostering healing, spiritual guidance, and lasting bonds. The upcoming class starts on Jan. 29, providing a supportive environment for those seeking solace. For more information, contact Bobbi at 817-437-2248.

The Encouragers: A compassionate extension of Women Sharing Hope, the Encouragers reach out to new widows with condolences, practical assistance, and prayer support. Each widow receives a handcrafted prayer shawl and a Stephen Ministries book, providing both tangible and emotional support. If you’re a knitter or crocheter wanting to contribute, reach out to Linda Buishas at 708-267-4663.

Quarterly Meet ‘N Greets: Creating opportunities for widows to connect, the quarterly Meet ‘N Greets foster new friendships and provide a space for shared experiences. Attendees leave with smiles and newfound connections. To join the next Meet ‘N Greet on March 2, contact Bobbi Stringer at 817-437-2248.

Widows’ PPPs: The monthly Prayer, Praise, and Play groups offer a close-knit community where widows come together for support, camaraderie, and spiritual nourishment. Existing PPPs welcome new members, providing mentorship and solidarity. If interested in joining a new PPP group, contact Theresa Peoples at 214-577-4616.

The purpose of all Widows ministries is to provide “love, support, and shared commonality with loss of our loved one all wrapped up in God’s love and praise. It teaches us that we are not alone in our grief and that everyone grieves differently at different lengths of time and intensity. “Widowhood is a challenging season in one’s life, but validating feelings, giving support, and sharing the good and the not-so-good together can make a huge difference. The four ministries of Widows Sharing Hope provide the opportunity for all those things to happen.

Widows Sharing Hope, as part of Women Sharing Hope’s larger mission, stands as a testament to the organization’s commitment to developing friendships, fostering faith, and spreading God’s love. Their transformative impact resonates through each ministry, offering a lifeline for women facing the complexities of widowhood.
