We may be sweltering, but the Happy Potters have the holidays on their minds! On July 17 the Pottery Studio was standing-room-only as club members took up clay to create a variety of Christmas trees for the Holiday Market. Some trees are reminiscent of a flatter triangle on a stick, and others were built as a 3-D spiral. While they are created using different techniques, they are all absolutely adorable. Winter-themed rolling pins added festive textures to the various trees. The most labor-intensive of these creations require applying dozens of cut-out clay holly leaves to a cone-shaped base.
Plan to attend the annual Holiday Market on Oct. 14 in the clubhouse, and get there early to get the best selection of these wonderful handcrafted home accents!
Also, don’t forget to stop by the display window in the CATC to check on our progress as we work toward donating 150 bowls to Empty Bowls Denton. The number is growing!
