UNT Concert: Chamber Music

The band features 15 instruments of a full swing band plus an expanded rhythm section to feature the rhythms inherent to the Afro Cuban and Latin Jazz styles of music.

The UNT Chamber Music Concert will be on Thursday, Nov. 21, in the clubhouse ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert starts at 7 p.m.

The Chamber Music Program at the University of North Texas (UNT) is a vibrant and dynamic part of the College of Music. Each year, over 200 students studying string, woodwind, brass, and keyboard instruments participate in the program. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and excellence, the program provides students with hands-on experience in both performance and ensemble skills. Chamber groups from UNT have found success in prestigious international competitions such as Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, Plowman Chamber Music Competition, and Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition.

The Chamber Music Program at UNT is directed by Gudrun Raschen, and Darrel Hale directs the Center for Chamber Music Studies.

Tickets will be on sale for $15 each. They will go on sale at the Office of Banquets & Events on Oct. 28 from 9 to 11 a.m. Cash, check, credit card, and member accounts are acceptable forms of payment. Seating will be theater style.

Ten dollars of each ticket will go directly to the RR UNT Scholarship provided to The College of Music’s best and the brightest musicians. The Robson Ranch UNT Scholarship Committee is a group of generous Robson Ranch community members who collectively raise funds to provide scholarships to music students at the University of North Texas. Our goal is to award several $1,000 scholarships per year.
