Voices United (VU) held its annual 3-Club Scramble on Thursday, Oct. 21. Ten members played nine holes of golf with a single requirement—each person was only allowed to bring and play with three golf clubs of their choice. Decisions, decisions! Players included Jackie Ford, DeeDee Karabetsos, Nanci Odom, Marsha Scholze, Vicki Shoemaker, Jane Thompson, Linda Vandenbree, Nancy Wendt, Virginia Wheeless, and Deb Williams.

The fun started with a short meeting at West’s hole number 1 where all enjoyed a celebratory beverage. There were three teams. Some brought a driver, and some brought a putter. The clubs in between included a variety of wedges, woods, and hybrids. It’s amazing how you can actually drive with a hybrid and putt with a 5 wood.

It ended up that the event was a real challenge in that the scores were very close with Team 1 scoring 41, Team 2 scoring 42, and Team 3 scoring 43. Equal talent on all teams. The first-place prize went to Team 1, which consisted of Jackie Ford, Linda Vandenbree, Virginia Wheeless, and Deb Williams.

Afterward, all enjoyed a dinner at Robson Ranch Wildhorse Grill. Special thanks to Craig Pullen and Linda Scott for their assistance in making sure we had everything we needed to make the scramble successful.
