Allergies and asthma are common, but the way physicians diagnose and treat these conditions continues to evolve. The Robson Ranch Living Well Committee is pleased to welcome Kanao Otsu, MD, MPH, for an informative presentation, “Current Perspectives in Allergy Care: Updates, Insights and Best Practices from National Jewish Health,” on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m., Robson Ranch Clubhouse.
Dr. Otsu is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Allergy and Immunology at National Jewish Health and a faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is a fellowship-trained allergist and immunologist who treats patients with common and rare allergies, asthma, and immune disorders.
Her clinical and research interests include asthma, biologic therapies, and primary and secondary immunodeficiency disorders. Much of her work focuses on understanding the immune mechanisms behind different forms of asthma and the use of targeted biologic therapies.
During her presentation, Dr. Otsu will share current perspectives on allergy and asthma care, including advances in diagnosis, treatment and the understanding of how the immune system affects these conditions. For residents who deal with seasonal allergies, asthma or other immune-related issues, the presentation can provide valuable insight into how today’s treatments differ from those of the past and what new approaches are emerging.
Even if you don’t personally suffer from allergies or asthma, this presentation offers an opportunity to better understand conditions that affect millions of people and the advances being made in their treatment.
Dr. Otsu’s expertise has earned her recognition as a 5280 Magazine and Castle Connolly Top Doctor in allergy and immunology in 2024, 2025, and 2026. In addition to her clinical practice and research, she is actively involved in educating medical students, residents, and allergy and immunology fellows.
The Living Well Committee’s Speakers Series brings knowledgeable professionals to Robson Ranch to provide engaging and educational programs designed to help residents live healthier and more informed lives.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse. Come hear from a nationally recognized allergy and immunology specialist and discover what’s new in allergy and asthma care.
