Friday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m. Robson Ranch Clubhouse
What makes a good story? Sometimes it’s the people we meet, the places we go, or the unexpected moments that become treasured memories. For lifelong fisherman and storyteller Dalton Gregory, a lifetime of experiences has provided plenty of stories to share.
Women Sharing Hope invites Robson Ranch residents to join them on Friday, Nov. 6, for a special Gratitude Gathering featuring Gregory and his gift for storytelling.
Gregory began telling stories to strangers in the early 1980s while working as a backpacking guide in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. His storytelling skills followed him throughout a 34-year career in Texas public schools, where he served as a teacher, an administrator for the Houston School District Outdoor Education Center, and an elementary principal in Denton.
After retiring from public education, Gregory spent four years on the adjunct faculty at the University of North Texas. He has also been elected five times to serve on the Denton City Council.
But storytelling has remained one of his greatest passions. Gregory has told stories in schools, churches, and libraries and has made several appearances at the Texas Storytelling Festival. He also conducts workshops on developing personal stories and particularly enjoys sharing tales from his childhood—as well as a few good tall tales.
Come enjoy a morning of stories, laughter, memories, and gratitude as Dalton Gregory reminds us of the wonderful stories that can be found in a life well lived.
Note: Our October gathering is on Friday Oct. 23. Don’t miss it.
A Mission of Hope in a Land of Crisis
It’s a story you won’t want to miss. Recently returned from Ethiopia, Marcie Erikson will share powerful stories and videos from her latest trip, introducing us to some of the remarkable people whose lives have been transformed through Grace Center’s work. Her story offers a personal glimpse into the challenges, victories and faith behind this extraordinary mission.
Marcie is also the author of two books: Glimpse Africa: The Women of Bahir Dar, which shares stories and photographs of people connected with Grace Center, and Mama Meheret: Memoir of a Missionary, which chronicles her personal journey of a life dedicated to serving others.
About Women Sharing Hope—Women Sharing Hope is a Christ-centered community where friendships flourish, faith deepens, and God’s love is shared freely. We meet regularly on the first Friday of every month. (Note: Our October program will be held on Friday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m.) For more information, email womensharinghopeclub@gmail.com or visit womensharinghope.net.
