The June luncheon was a musical program complete with an array of performers known as The Cameo Club. This group of dynamic women, former queens and contestants in the Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant, spotlighted the “positive image of aging” through song, dance and performance. The ballroom doors opened at 11:00 a.m. and members and guests located their seats in anticipation of this delightful program.

The greeters did a great job escorting new members to the “New Members” tables. Sharon Foy, president, kicked off the luncheon by welcoming the first-time attendees and guests and announced the club’s membership has now reached 449 members. Following the announcement Sharon recognized the June birthdays and shared “fun facts” about people born in June.

Mary Ornberg recognized Althea Parent, Robson Ranch HOA Activities Coordinator, for her outstanding assistance and guidance while coordinating Women’s Club meetings and events over the past several years. Althea’s knowledge and willingness to assist ensured the success of many events. She will have a chance to enjoy her much deserved Robson Ranch retirement lifestyle.

Sharon provided the treasurer’s report and service donation totals. She also highlighted the next Community Relations Charity Projects to roll out soon: clothing drive for women returning to the Workplace, Nanci Odem, coordinator, and a book drive for used books for the Refuge for Women Shelter, Jan Utzman and Shirley McCrory, coordinators.

Peggy Crandell provided details about the Ladies Afternoon Tea, August 29, 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse. The cost is $25 per person. This event is an opportunity for Women’s Club members to enjoy an afternoon tea together with specialty teas, scones and a variety of finger sandwiches. Members have an opportunity to adopt and decorate a table with their own selected tablescapes. If you wish to decorate a table contact Peggy Crandell at [email protected].

Sharon also reminded everyone the Holiday Market will be Saturday, October 7, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse, and if anyone knows a vendor they would like to participate please contact her at [email protected].
