Dr. Eric Olson will be our keynote speaker on April 15 at 6:00 p.m. He is a chiropractor specializing in conservative management of musculoskeletal pain. He earned his chiropractic and master’s degrees in 2015 and has been in practice for two years. Before attending chiropractic school, he went to Texas Christian University where he majored in movement science. Following graduation, he worked in a research lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center where he assisted with cardiovascular and exercising testing of master’s athletes and elderly individuals in research studies. These experiences have given him a unique perspective on health, exercise, and musculoskeletal pain. In his practice in Denton, he treats pain and injuries from head to toe stemming from the connective tissues, which includes the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. His treatment involves precise soft tissue manipulation to correct the cause of the pain followed by active rehabilitation, which combines stretching, self-myofascial release, and body weight exercises. Patient education is one of the cornerstones of his practice. He teaches people how to use tools at home to help address and alleviate their pain. His goal is to efficiently correct his patient’s pain using the most up to date treatment and rehab methods and ultimately help them improve their health. He stays current on research in the realm of physical therapy and orthopedics and collaborates with other healthcare professionals when necessary to ensure that his patients get the best medical care for their conditions. His subject for this meeting will be back pain.
