That is a really good question. The Robson Ranch Women’s Club has a Service Committee, but its responsibilities are not what you might think. This committee’s responsibilities are to promote the “hometown” spirit at Robson Ranch by offering events and projects to enhance the feeling of community among Robson residents.
This newly repurposed committee has had projects in the past that were so successful in developing the sense of community that they will return. The Halloween Pet Costume Contest will be coming back on Oct. 30; information on how to sign up your precious pet will be available soon. The Service Committee will be hosting again a Santa Day on Dec. 12, where grandchildren of Robson residents can meet Santa, have pictures taken, and enjoy treats.
A new project this year was creating an awareness of the Women’s Club as part of this community in the Fourth of July parade. Members of the club led the way with a Women’s Club banner, a beautiful car with the club president ensconced, and thirteen decorated golf carts. During the holiday season, the committee will help with holiday decorations in the common areas here at the Ranch.
If, to your eye, this committee seems to be having a good time, you could share the fun by signing up. If you are not a Women’s Club member, please visit the Women’s Club website and download an application form, www.rrwomensclub.org. The Service Committee would welcome additional hands and minds to encourage that “hometown spirit.” Contact Joyce Frey at [email protected] for information or to volunteer.
