Improvements Continue at the Robson Ranch Bocce Complex

The Robson Ranch Bocce Club continues to work closely with the Robson Ranch HOA management to make our outstanding bocce facility even better. Several exciting improvement projects are either beginning or moving through the planning stages, all designed to enhance the playing experience and improve the long-term functionality of the courts.

The first project began the week of July 27 with the installation of gutters on the Ramada. Work was scheduled to start that Monday and was expected to be completed by Tuesday. The good news for players is that the bocce courts will remain open throughout this portion of the project, allowing recreational games to continue without interruption.

Following the gutter installation, preparations will begin for an important drainage enhancement project that will further improve the courts following heavy rains. Planned improvements include the installation of additional weep holes and removable gates at the ends of each court. These upgrades will make it easier to remove standing water manually while also providing improved access for court maintenance.

Because of the nature of this work, the entire Bocce Court complex will be temporarily closed for approximately two and a half weeks once construction begins. The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of both residents and contractors as the improvements are completed. During construction, everyone is asked to stay clear of the work area and allow the contractors to complete their work safely and efficiently.

Looking beyond these immediate improvements, plans are also underway to make the facility even more comfortable for players and spectators. The HOA is currently reviewing proposals for new shade structures that could be installed at the ends of the bocce courts. Several styles and designs are being evaluated to determine the best fit for the facility. Once design renderings are complete, they will be submitted for corporate review and approval. Following approval, competitive contractor bids will be obtained before moving forward with construction.

These projects represent another investment in one of the premier amenities at Robson Ranch. With more than 2,100 members participating in league and recreational play, maintaining and continually improving our eight-court complex remains a top priority. While temporary inconveniences may occur during construction, the result will be a safer, more functional, and more enjoyable facility for everyone.

The Robson Ranch Denton Bocce Club sincerely appreciates the patience and support of our members and residents throughout these improvements, and extends a special thank-you to Rhett Hubbard, the HOA, the Facilities Committee, and the Maintenance Crew for their commitment to enhancing our bocce facility. Together, these improvements will ensure that our courts remain among the finest in the community, providing an even better playing experience for years to come.
