Kathy Perry
Michelle Lynn, Evers librarian, was delighted to receive the Buddy Benches.
The project was a cooperative effort between the Kiwanis Club (KC) and the Woodworkers Club (WW). KC manufactured and painted the benches. The routed engraving was done by the WW, and a special thanks to Kathleen Dial for helping to make this happen. The engraving reads, “One Friend Can Change Your Whole Life.”
The two buddy benches will soon be installed in the library gardens.
We would like you to come and join us for some of our other projects. This month, we will have given out more than $2,000 in donations to some of our Denton partners. On September 4, Condell Garden, executive director of Interfaith Ministries (IFM), was given a check to help their back to school efforts for 6,000 children and needy families in Denton. Her presentation explained to us how IFM makes a difference in Denton for those in need.
On September 18, we will be hearing about the good works of the Salvation Army and all the children and families they help.
On October 17, we will be working at the Equine Horse Therapy facility, which serves handicapped children. Come and see how we help.
Come join us! Kiwanians make a difference.
We meet at the clubhouse on 1st and 3rd Fridays at 8:30 a.m. for social time with 9 a.m. meeting starts.
